Italy is enriched with many destination beaches which provide plenty of opportunities for vacationers to revel under sunny skies while admiring the scenic Mediterranean Sea coast. One of such beaches is the Spiaggia di Cala Capola.
The beach is located near Dormus de Maria, Province of Cagliari, South Sardinia. If you are staying at Forte Village, it is only about 10.7 km away that is a 19-minute drive through Strada Statale 195 Sulcitana and Viale Chia/SP71.
It is not surprising that many guests at Hotel Castillo or Hotel Le Dune in Forte Village make it a part of their travel itinerary. This point of interest is guaranteed to provide the soothing comfort for recreational tourists who are looking to unwind. In the afternoon, Spiaggia di Cala Capola is a musical hum of whistling pine cones. And at night- a soft synchronous jabber of frog mating-calls can be heard in the distance.
Cala Cipolla (Spiaggia di Cala Cipolla) is among the Chia Bay’s many prized pearls. It is not only famous among International tourists, but also a big favourite for people who prefer to surf off-season. The beach is nestled in a narrow bay and stretches along 150 meters with white sands and a dense growth of Mediterranean Maquis.
There are also juniper and pine trees that offer much-needed shade in the hot afternoons. Facing the south of the beach is the cove and on the west, you can enjoy stunning views of the lighthouse on the headlands of Capo Spartivento not more than 800 meters away.
Another beach, Su Guideu, which is close to Cala Cipolla, is popular among guests at Forte Village. It is a breeding ground for flamingos, and located just north-east of Cala Cipolla. Since Spiagga di Cala Cipolla is a renowned snorkelling site for swimmers in South Sardinia, guests are advised to bring along some snorkelling gear.
As mentioned previously, Forte Village is a seaside luxury resort with adjoining bungalows and suites which provide guests with a satisfying mix of 5-star service in a traditional Italian setting. Hotels available include Il Borgo, Le Dune, Hotel Castillo, La Pineta and Villa del Parco.
Like the beach, each hotel is equipped with family-friendly features designed to provide an unforgettable experience for vacationing guests. There are ocean views from some rooms, while others overlook the naturally grown verdant gardens.
The hotels usually provide a shuttle service for tourists who have registered for the trip in their itinerary. You may decide to go alone by taxi or car hire service. If you are coming straight from the Cagliari airport, it is about an hour drive.
You take the Starda Statale 195 Sulcitana towards Teulada. When you pass Sanata Margerita di Pula after about 31 km, the Viale Chia/SP71 is the next route that takes you to Viale Spartivento. After driving for 6 km, the parking lot is visible on your right. From there, you walk 100 meters to the cove.
